Why DSD?
DSD (Direct Stream Digital) is an audio encoding method fundamentally different from traditional PCM. Built around 1-bit pulse-density modulation, it captures subtle sound details at extremely high sample rates (DSD64: 2.8MHz, DSD256: 11.2MHz).
Compared with traditional PCM, DSD's advantages:
- More natural soundstage — smooth ultra-high-frequency extension without PCM's out-of-band noise
- Lower time-domain error — the 1-bit architecture is inherently less sensitive to clock jitter
- Richer harmonics — more complete preservation of instrument overtones
SACD ISO: A New Way to Distribute Digital
SACD ISO is a digital mirror image of an SACD (Super Audio CD). Think of it as a virtual SACD disc — it contains complete stereo and multichannel audio tracks, album metadata, and a file structure compatible with SACD players.
The ISO format is ideal for:
- Digital distribution — fans can play it on SACD-capable players or software
- Archiving — one file holds an entire album for long-term preservation
- Limited releases — offer a high-spec edition to your loyal listeners
